My cute purple device
A little more than a year later, it was finally time to get myself a Miyoo mini+ it was the device that I didn’t buy back then and now I finnaly own one. Let’s see if I missed something out when I decided to go for the Anbernic RG35xx last year. Not to mention I got this device for quite a good deal.
I have to admit that I have been wondering if I would really buy myself this device. Specially since, I already have the miyoo mini itself and that is honestly the handheld I use the most. The main reason I decided to buy this one is that I really liked the pruple color and that I was also a little bit curious about it since I also got the Anbernic RG35xx it seems that people always debate between the 2 of these devices so in the end I just decided to get myself one so I could have a pair, and of course a little bit because I like collecting.
Since I already tried the Micro-Sd card when I buy the Miyoo mini back then I did not order one with this device since, they are no branded and well there are a ton of Chinese and Japanese games on and for someone who doesn’t speak those languages personally I didn’t want to spend more money for that, and I already planned to just use my Micro-SD card form the Miyoo mini I already have.
That means this time I did not installed firmware or added new themes, and I have to admit it was a little bit weird to not be able to do that. This time for me it was just plug and play. One part of me was like why can’t all the devices have a good card and be able to plug and play like this. It did save me quite some time, and while I think that is a good thing, I did miss not installing everything myself.
The Miyoo mini+ was ready to go and I could immediately play games on this one. I decided that I would only play with this one for a while and I would leave the Miyoo mini itself for what it is.
Mainly I have been playing Gameboy games on this device, and those games are a great to play on the Miyoo mini+. I also have tried SNES, Megadrive and other emulators on this, but as expected and as we know those games play well on this device, but honestly, I rather play Gameboy related games on this one for some reason. This is very personal of course and I have other handheld devices so, I have the luxury to choose what kind of games I want to play on which handheld. I am sure that if this was my only handheld I would not mind playing all kinds of different games on this one.
There is only one thing that is what I think not really comfortable and that is holding the device, and that I mean to compare it with the Anbernic RG35xx which I think is more comfortable for me to hold. Also, for me is the miyoo mini itself a little bit mor comfortable to hold since I mostly hold that one with one hand.
I know that a lot of people make ready to go cards for this device so that makes it a really good candidate for a plug and play experience. I also seen companies who sell these devices have options for plug and play with good micro-SD cards. I have to admit I see that for more and more handheld devices lately and I think that isn’t really a bad thing. The only downside of that is that they will maybe charge a lot more. What I do understand because it takes some work to make a card ready to play. Not a lot of work in my opinion.
I got this device off AliExpress, and I am more then happy with the cheap price I paid for this. I say if you want to get this one wait till the price is right since, there are so many devices around at the moment. I know for the 50 euro they sometimes ask there are many other good options but if you can get it for around 35 I would say it’s more worth the price.
This device has a something for everyone. This because there is some nice firmware for it if you like making the device your own, and if you don’t want that you can just buy yourself a plug and play Micro-Sd card. I really like this device because of that. I do know that this is also for other devices, but for me with this device I saw that you can buy a plug and play Micro-Sd card for.
Till the next blog everyone
