The underrated device

Personally, I think that the PS Vita is a very underrated device. At least in my opinion. I feel really sad that I discovered all those great games too late, but there is also good news. Since I have decided to soft modify my PS Vita. Now being to late for those great games is all in the past.

When the PS Vita came out here there was always one thing that annoyed me. There was only one color if it and that was black. I don’t know why but I wanted a white one. Maybe because the PSP Go, I had back then was also white and that one looked so nice. I stood in front of the PS vita in stores many times, but I always walked away. As the years passed by, I saw that in Japan they had all kinds of amazing colors. I always hoped that those colors would be available in my country too, but that never happened. Another point that kept me from buying a PS Vita was that I had no clue what kind of amazing games there were. Stores only sold the mainstream games, and well you can guess that those are not my games.

I was able to find myself a new PS Vita in white with a pink back on eBay. When I saw this color combination I was sold. Not only white but also pink on the back. This one was located in Japan but since they shipped worldwide this wasn’t a problem. This was the second model and had no OLED screen. At that moment I wasn’t looking for some OLED screen. It was the color that mattered to me the most. Back then they still produced the PS Vita since the same seller had lots of different Brand-new ones that was also something that was a plus for me. Best thing about the PS Vita is that the device is region free so I don’t have to worry about buying my games here.

The first game I had on the Vita was Demon Gaze, and soon after that I got my hands on Virtue’s Last Reward. That game actually got me hooked on Visual Novel games. I was seriously so addicted to that game. My poor PS Vita didn’t get any rest until I finished the game. Before I learned about these Novel games, I mostly played Horror games or other weird Thriller game. The PS Vita showed me how many other great games there were. Most Ps Vita games I had to get online by the time that there was a local store who had a good selection of games some years had passed and the PS Vita was already replaced by other consoles on the market. Another good game that I had to find on Amazon was Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly I never had a game that turned dark so quickly. For those who have a weak heart don’t play the game it is really twisted. The last game I want to point out is Danganronpa. Another good game that I played on the PS Vita.

Personally, I find it sad that I always had to get the games either online or later secondhanded. Nowadays the market for those games really skyrocketed. If you look at the Japanese market for this device you will be shocked how many games we missed. Specially horror and novel games. This is why I enjoy my modded Vita so much. There are still days that I find a new game.

For example, when I just had my Vita modded I was looking around at the PGKJ store and found out that there was a Megaton Edition of Duke Nukem. I learned that it was only temporary one the PS Vita store back in the days. Same goes for Superfrog this was also a game I never knew was on the store. This is a game from my past and replaying this game was really fun, and these are just 2 games. There are still many more. Even thou modifying you Vita takes an extra step it is just as easy as modifying you 3DS.

The PS Vita is still one of my favorite handheld devices all time. Even thou I do not travel with it anymore like I used to do. I still love turning it on and play games on it.
