Tamagotchi a different kind of handheld

Very small and super cute

Let’s talk about a different kind of handheld today. One that you cannot miss in your handheld collection, well at least that is what I think. These super small devices have been on the market for years. I’m sure that most of us had one when we were a kid. There was a time that our school even banned them when they first released them. Our parents had to take care of them when we were in school and I can tell you that sometimes the poor Tamagotchi was not alive anymore when school ended…

Back in the days the Tamagotchi wasn’t as fancy as they are now. There even is a sitter option on my Tamagotchi Uni. And with my Tamagotchi Meets I can send it off the parents in my device. This makes things a lot easier.

My first Tamagotchi was a pink one, sadly the only thing I remember is that one day it stopped coming out of its egg and nothing happened anymore no matter how long I waited. I think that the motherboard crashed if I look back at it now. I also had a fake Tamagotchi and I have no idea what happened with that one.

Some years later I had a variation that is called Dinkie Dino this one was always on my keychain and sadly they were not made for that. Poor thing died from being tortured with weather circumstances.

A few years ago, my love for Tamagotchi comes up again and I decided to get a new one. I mean there were so many cute colors and the variations blew my mind. One thing that I didn’t like was the high prices I mean some were around 100 euro. I can’t remember they were so expensive in the past. After some searching, I found a purple meets. This one was still pricey but I could live with it.

I was sold when it arrived, not only it was really adorable to see and also the new options over all those years made it worth it. In this Purple Meets variation you van make a family tree and marry off your Tamagotchi and visit all kinds of worlds. Buy stuff for your Tamagotchi and even decorate your room, and if you are busy around the day, you can just visit your Tamagotchi its parents’ house and they will babysit for you. I really enjoyed the little handheld.

The next Tamagotchi came last year. I found out about the Tamagotchi Uni. I can tell you I ended up having 4 now and hope to get the last 2 variations before the prices skyrocket even more. This variation you can charge instead of buying batteries. There are some other features about this one for example you can take it with you when you are on a walk. If you start a mini game they call Tama walk you can find stuff and with that stuff your Tamagotchi can do DIY.

There are a ton of different Tamagotchi’s out there and some are really beautiful and very pricey. I am not planning on spending a fortune on those, but I do want to keep an eye out when they make a new kind of Tamagotchi after the Uni to see how the technology changes for these cute little devices.

These mini handhelds are actually a lot of fun. I know that they are not like gaming handhelds but I do think they fit very well in my handheld collection. If you are planning to get one, I think that it’s best to check out a secondhand store. The Tamagotchi Uni ones are really fun and secondhand not too expensive yet. You can also still buy these ones new if you prefer a new one. I think there is something for everyone with these devices.
